O.A.R. has announced a new run, including an Aug. 10 date at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center and Aug. 17 at Frontier Field in Rochester, according to Pollstar. Ozomatli opens. Any of you CU kids catch their show with Grace Potter & the Nocturnals at Barton Hall earlier this month?
Country star Dierks Bentley has added a June 20 date at the Dunn Tire Park in Buffalo to his summer roster, says Pollstar. Opening act is Rodney Atkins. (The park is the home of the Buffalo Bisons minor league baseball team, and has a seating capacity of over 18,000.)
Soul king extraordinaire Al Green is apparently putting out an album with ?uestlove of the Roots. Both bands are (separately) on the bill at the Rochester International Jazz Festival. Boz Scaggs, the John Scofield Trio, Devon Allman's Honeytribe, Soulive, Medeski Martin & Wood, Joe Bonamassa, the Nighthawks, and Cindy Blackman (longtime Lenny Kravitz drummer) are some of the other rock-related acts on the gargantuan lineup of more than 800+ acts.
Flight of the Conchords, the New Zealand duo behind the hit HBO series, will make a brief tour of the U.S. in late April and May. They aren't exactly hitting Ithaca, but you can catch them May 5 at the Tower Theater in Philly.
The Austin City Limits festival in Austin, Texas, announces its full lineup tomorrow morning. Who will it be?? Recent rumors have pegged everyone from Neil Young, Pearl Jam and Beck to more fantastical (and far-fetched) bands like Radiohead and Bruce Springsteen. Come on, people, the Boss does not "do" festivals. Usually?
And speaking of festivals, Bonnaroo (to be held June 13-15 in Manchester, Tenn.) has a surprise announcement of its own planned for this Thursday. Could Bob Lefsetz's rumors of a Zeppelin reunion, shot down by the promoters months ago, come true after all?
A June 28 show at Albany's Palace Theatre by 90s rocker Melissa Etheridge goes on sale Friday, May 9. She'll also do a two-night stand at the MSG Theatre in NYC July 9-10, followed by Reading, Pa. on July 15.
And Foxy Brown gets out the big house on Friday!
That's all for now ...
